Caitlyn E. Vetter first joined Kelly, Rode & Kelly, LLP as an undergraduate summer intern in 2008, and she returned as a law student intern in 2011. Ms. Vetter is happy to have returned once again to the KRK team in June 2023. She handles matters in various areas of civil defense litigation, including medical malpractice and general liability cases.
Ms. Vetter graduated cum laude from Binghamton University in 2010 with a degree in biological sciences and English. During her undergraduate career, she spearheaded a helpline for students, providing resources to callers as they navigated landlord-tenant court disputes. She received her Juris Doctor degree from St. John’s University School of Law in 2013 and was admitted to the New York State Bar in 2014. She is a member of the New York State Bar Association and Nassau County Bar Association.
During her legal career, Ms. Vetter has worked as in-house counsel for one of New York’s largest professional liability insurance carriers and focused her practice on the defense of physicians and other healthcare providers, nurses, hospitals, nursing homes, and healthcare facilities. She also spent a year in the office of the general counsel for the same professional liability insurer, responding to legal inquiries from insureds, performing coverage analysis for claims as they were reported, providing internal legal support to the carrier’s various business units, and assisting with the carrier’s expansion efforts into neighboring states.
Outside of legal practice, Ms. Vetter enjoys spending time with her pets, working on cross-stitch projects, and designing elaborate charcuterie boards for small get-togethers.
